Are You Interested in Fly Tying?
On Tuesday the 3rd of September we had our first Fly Tying Tuition Session at the RSA. It was well attended and enjoyed by all. Our next Session will be next Tuesday the 1st of October.
Initially these classes are more for those who are beginning or have done very little fly tying. We are starting with basic nymph patterns, this month it was Hare and Coppers and Pheasant Tail Nymphs, and then we will progressively move on to other patterns like wee wets and streamers.
The Class is held in the small meeting room upstairs at the Birkenhead RSA once a month, on the first Tuesday of the month, and starts at 7pm.
For participants the only requirement is to turn up, bringing what fly tying gear you have if you have it. For the evening tuition, everything else, materials, hooks etc. will be provided.
The provision of materials requires that the club knows before each evening the number of members that will be attending. So please register your interest by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 27SEP19. A follow up email will be sent directly to those who register their interest by that date.

Due to popular demand, our own Simon Hoole will be running another Two Handed Rod Casting Session at Onepoto Domain (Just Off Onewa Road) this Saturday. All are welcome from the absolute beginner to the experienced caster looking for that ‘extra yard’ on their cast. Simon is an excellent two handed caster and can provide tips for all.
The Casting Session will be from 10am onwards.
